Breeze through job preparation with a comprehensive, easy-to-use suite of pre-press tools such as Sunrise Editor and Label Studio, offering full integration to the user interface to accelerate job setup and create press ready PDFs.

Sunrise Editor and Label Studio are a powerful combination, joining forces in a new take on preparing and handling of jobs without the need for Adobe Illustrator. From the basics, such as adding dynamic marks, to intelligent algorithms to gang labels and customisable automated processes, Sunrise reduces repetitive tasks and errors for consistent and accurate results.

Tailored to support efficient pre-press setup by the press operator, Sunrise DFE's intuitive UI features a real-time preview of the job reflecting any adjustments made. This gives operators the flexibility and freedom to finetune a job for optimum print results prior to ripping, without relying on the pre-press team.

Variable data printing with inline ripping: Minimise idle time and boost productivity

With Sunrise, variable data printing combined with inline ripping makes handling jobs with complex personalisation fast and simple.

True inline ripping has long been a goal for press operators. Traditionally, they’ve had to pre-process jobs while the press sits idle, as conventional RIP speeds can’t keep pace with high-speed digital inkjet systems. Sunrise changes that by processing variable data ‘as-you-print’ in real-time.

Using AI and machine learning, Sunrise offers powerful inline variable data processing capabilities creating an intelligent, press-specific RIP model that executes over 1,000 PDF operations. Once trained, it can instantly deconstruct any PDF print job, fine-tune RIP settings, and accurately predict the minimum constant RIP rate – and thus the achievable printing speed. This empowers press operators to make data-driven decisions, optimise scheduling, and significantly reduce the risk of downtime.

Precise colour control for consistent prints every time

Colour accuracy is key for brand owners, and Sunrise features advanced colour adjustment tools that help keep colours consistent, from job-to-job, as well as across technologies. The on-board spot colour refinement tool assists the operator in easily lightening or darkening colours without having to change the CYMKOV values visually. The ‘print and check’ feature removes guesswork, allowing the operator to confidently make colour adjustments without the help of a colour specialist.

Advanced colour profiling tools and media characterisation functionality are available via Domino Media Manager (previously Domino Calibrator), enabling baseline press calibration and ICC profile creation from a set of standard settings.

Take control of your print costs with accurate, real-time job cost calculations

Estimate and monitor your costs reliably and accurately with the Job Cost Calculator, based on user-configurable ink, media and service pricing. The calculator allows you to add multiple files, duplicate colours and manually enter currency for a real-world cost analysis before sending the files to the press.

The output, including a side-by-side comparison of projected ink costs by weight, area and volume when printing with 4 or 6 colours, gives you the data you need to make informed decisions – highlighting potential savings for the most cost-efficient production.

Real-time press monitoring and data-driven insights

Domino Viewer enables you to leverage production data from your press for more efficient monitoring and analysis. It displays your live (or multiple) press status, errors, job information and predicted costs of the current queue.

The tool also allows users to access historical job data and costs, with the ability to export a variety of reports, including daily, weekly, or monthly stats, comparing different timeframes and shifts. It is ideal to keep abreast of cost drivers and identify inefficient processes, therefore helping you increase your overall equipment effectiveness.

The data can be accessed anywhere in your local network, more widely via a VPN connection, or fed into your own MIS system with the option to have different permissions set up for individual roles.
